The 2nd International Day “Culinary and Costume Fest” 2011

With  theme “Culture in Harmony”, the Office of International Affairs once again proudly presented The 2nd International Day “Culinary and Costume Festival” on 1st December 2011. This event was the annual event which is held by Office of International Affairs Ahmad Dahlan University.

Taking place in Green Hall 3rd Campus of Ahmad Dahlan University, the first agenda that was International Culinary Festival was successfully attract the attention of the students. There were 11 culinary stand comes from 6 country; China, Korea, Japan, Polandia, Malaysia, and Timor Leste. Each stand presented its traditional food from their country. Many splendid food came from each country like  Okonomiyaki and sushi from Japan, Tom Yang Kung and pad thai from Thailand, Malaysian Nasi Lemak,  Peking Duck and Chinese dumpling. All the visitor have the same chance to taste those delicious food, and of course its free of charge!

The second agenda was Fashion Show and  International Costume Festival. The enthusiasm of this program was really great, it was shown by forty participant who joined this costume festival. All of them looked stunning with their glamorous and attractive costume.

Five of darmasiswa students; Kwon Gamin (Korea), Waka Murano (Japan), Tang Lisi (China), Elizabeth Palka (Polandia), and Zhong Xin (China) were joined with the fashion show and display the beautiful clothes from several famous designer in Jogja after being trained by H.Adi Karang-a designer and talent search-in Adana Modelling School just for one week. There were 4 designer who take a part on fashion show, such as Sugeng Waskito (Gee Batik), Yulvita Paramita Dewi (Janitra )Adam Hamimie (Javasionist),and Klambi Telazoo by Sumita.

Finnaly, three adjudicators which is consist of Ulin Yahya-a talent search, Bunda Esti (The Director of Puspadanta Broadcasting School) and Dian Artha (UAD’s lecturer) decided the winner for each category; best catwalk, best costume, most favourite, and best photogenic

Intan Rawit Sapanti, S.Pd as the convenor of this program really hope by creating this event it would enhance the spirit of cultural exchange among all the International students and local students of Ahmad Dahlan University. Secondly, she expect the next International Day would be better and more successful.
